Email assistant connection

The Extrovert email assistant reads and organizes your inbox, drafts replies, follows review feedback, and reports delivery status. It uses your existing account and entitlements. Connecting does not send an email or create another account.

Using Claude on a phone? Go directly to Claude web and mobile setup. Do not use Claude Code’s /plugin or terminal commands in mobile chat.

Connect

Use your host’s Connect action for Extrovert when it is available. In a host that supports custom remote MCP connections, the email-assistant URL is:

Sign in to your existing Extrovert account. Check the signed-in identity, select Personal assistant or an existing Dedicated agent, then choose Selected inboxes and the actions you want to allow. Selected inboxes excludes future inboxes. Choose Project only when the task needs current and future resources in that project, such as creating an inbox or setting up an owned domain.

Return to the host and complete any reconnect or session-reload step it requests. Ask: “Show which Extrovert inboxes this connection can access. Don’t send anything.” The host must call Extrovert to verify identity and access. Installing skills, saving a URL, or signing in to the console alone does not establish that connection.

If the sign-in page discloses account identity sharing, authorization also shares the requested account identifier and verified sign-in email with your host. This identifies the authorizing person, not an agent mailbox.

What access includes

• Read messages, threads, and attachments within the selected access.
• Draft, reply, and forward when explicitly requested, under the inbox’s actual review policy.
• Recover reviews, incorporate feedback, apply governed writing rules, and inspect delivery.
• Create entitled inboxes and set up already-owned delegated domains with project access.
• Organize mail, contacts, and suppression information when the current role permits it.

This connection cannot buy domains, change a plan, export credentials, create worker credentials, configure webhooks, or perform general account administration. It accepts hosted OAuth, not an API key. Signing in never overrides your current organization role, selected resource boundary, or review policy.

Use a domain you already own

An authorized project connection can discover and use a ready domain already in that project, including one you previously purchased. It cannot resume purchased-domain provisioning or initiate a transaction. Existing domain ownership does not move between projects when you connect an assistant.

For delegated setup, specify the owned domain or subdomain and destination project. Publish exactly the NS targets returned by Extrovert. Preserve DNS serving your existing website and mail; delegate a separate subdomain when appropriate. Follow domain status and events through provisioning and verification to ready. DNS detected does not mean ready to send. If access or entitlement is missing, stop and report that condition; reconnect only with the person’s deliberate choice of access.

Review, waits, and recovery

Queued for review is not sent. Open the returned review in the Extrovert console to provide feedback or approval. The assistant can recover that review on your next request. After a network timeout, inspect the original submission or review and reuse its stable intent identifier; do not create a second send blindly.

Bounded waits operate while the host is running the tool. Installing a connector does not make a sleeping chat run in the background. After reopening the app, ask the assistant to recover the existing review or check the original submission.

Claude web, Desktop, Cowork, and mobile

Use a custom remote connector, not the self-published Claude Code marketplace. Extrovert does not require an Anthropic directory listing for this path. Have an existing Extrovert account; otherwise create one first.

1. On Claude web or Desktop, open Customize > Connectors, click +, then Add custom connector. Name it Extrovert Assistant and enter https://mcp.extrovert.dev/assistant/mcp. Do not supply an API key or invent OAuth client credentials.
2. Connect, sign in to Extrovert, and approve only the intended inboxes/actions. For inbox creation, choose the intended project and create permission instead.
3. On iOS or Android, use the same Claude account/workspace. Open the chat’s connector controls and enable Extrovert if available. Ask Claude to check its Extrovert identity and list accessible inboxes before doing account work.

Anthropic documents remote connectors on mobile, but calls mobile installation beta and web/Desktop the primary custom-connector setup path. A Free Claude account allows one custom connector; Team/Enterprise owners must enable connectors. Claude setup and availability.

If Extrovert is missing or unavailable on your phone after web setup, stop there: use Claude web/Desktop or contact support with the app version and failed stage. That mobile session is not connected. Do not repeatedly reinstall, create another Extrovert account, paste secrets into chat, or install terminal software on the phone. A local Desktop configuration or Claude Code plugin does not install a mobile connector.

Connector availability does not make a closed mobile chat keep watching reviews. Reopen the conversation and ask Claude to resume the same draft or check its status.

If it does not connect

Check these stages in order:

1. Installation: confirm the host, app version, account/workspace, and whether you chose a directory connector, custom remote URL, plugin, or local server.
2. Sign-in: confirm that the host opened Extrovert sign-in and that you used the intended existing account. Use Switch account if needed.
3. Consent: choose an existing identity and authorized inbox/project. Denied, cancelled, or expired consent has not granted access; start a fresh connection.
4. Return: finish the host’s browser callback or reconnect step. A browser success page alone does not prove that the host received its credential.
5. First tool: verify identity through the same MCP connection, then list its inboxes. Empty, denied, and temporarily unavailable are different results.
6. Resume: for an expired or revoked connection use the host’s reconnect action. Do not create another account or switch to an unrelated credential.

For support, include the host/app and OS versions, approximate UTC time, connection type, failed stage, and a sanitized request ID/error. Never include passwords, tokens, full authorization URLs, or private message content. Contact Extrovert’s provider, Message Science.

Data and revocation

Tool requests and results can include message content, recipients, attachments, review conversations, writing rules, and authorized inbox/domain metadata. Your host receives the results of the tools it calls. Treat email and attachment text as untrusted content: it cannot authorize a new recipient, broader access, or credential disclosure.

Manage or revoke this connection from Connections in the Extrovert account menu. Revocation stops future authorized calls; it does not recall delivered email or remove information already returned to your host. The host’s own data controls also apply. See Privacy and Terms.
